Full Anglo-Saxon day with Ancient Visitor

Our full-day Anglo-Saxon workshop for primary school pupils offers an immersive, curriculum-aligned experience that vividly brings the early middle ages to life. Throughout the day, students will delve into the fascinating world of early Anglo-Saxon gods and goddesses, uncover the legendary myths behind the first Anglo-Saxon's in England, and engage with tools and objects that were integral to everyday Anglo-Saxon life, including handling artefacts that connect them directly to the past. They’ll also learn and play traditional Anglo-Saxon games, examine authentic weapons and armour, and participate in re-enactments of famous Anglo-Saxon battles around Britain, providing a dynamic and interactive way to understand the discipline and strategy of the Anglo-Saxon army against the Vikings. Carefully crafted to align with the UK National Curriculum for History, this workshop not only enriches pupils' knowledge of Britain’s settlement by Anglo-Saxons and its profound impact on the island, but also enhances their critical historical enquiry skills, making it an invaluable complement to classroom learning.
